Q: How different is the content of Colourfile Professional Plus from the Colourfile Pictorial Teaching System?
A: This new training aid represents an extensive revision and update on previous Colourfile products. We have added new pages, diagrams and information covering:
Safety Margins, Lanes, Lines, Bends & Lights, Dual Carriageways & Multi-Lane Roads, Making a U-Turn, Signals & Warnings, Toucan, Puffin and Equestrian (Pegasus) Crossings, Buses, HOV & Cycles, Trains, Trams, Trucks & Traffic, Rural Roads, Dealing with Emergency Vehicles, Vehicle Safety & Maintenance, Journey Management, Motorway Driving, All Weather Driving, Driving at Night, Eco-efficient Driving and Independent Driving.
Q: Is Colourfile Professional Plus suitable for teaching Pass Plus, advanced driving and corporate driver training?
A: Yes indeed: A key feature of this new addition to the Colourfile range is the inclusion of material for teaching qualified drivers. In addition to being cross-referenced to Pass Plus modules you will find lesson plans and diagrams suitable for taxi and fleet drivers. The inclusion of a 'Safety and Planning' section is a significant improvement on previous products.
Q: As an existing user of the Colourfile pictorial teaching system, will I find the same information as in my current training aid?
A: We have added to rather than deleted any of the information found in previous products in this range. Previous buyers will find the new Colourfile Professional Plus familiar but different! The new product retains the same winning formula of diagram pages free of instructional text and clearly defined lesson plans: The main difference is that by using modern illustration techniques the diagrams take on a bright, almost photographic quality with many presented in 'birds - eye' view to help your students link them to what is happening on the road.
Q: I teach in a vehicle with Automatic Transmission, is Colourfile Professional Plus suitable for me?
A: The new release is 'geared' for tuition in cars with manual transmission. However, we are aware of the need to make this product available for use in teaching the disabled who tend to learn in 'automatics'. We therefore intend to produce an 'automatic' edition within one month of launch of Colourfile Professional Plus. This will be available on a 'print to order' basis only on a digital press (as described above) until we can gauge the likely sales volume.
Q: I've bought training aids from other publishers in the past and then find I need expansion packs or upgrades to get the full benefit of using them. Is this new product complete?
A: Rest assured that we have taken our time to produce as up-to-date and complete a product as we can. We have no intention oif trying to sell you updates or additional pages once you have purchased Colourfile Professional Plus.
Q: Will you be introducing any more new products in the Colourfile range?
A: Theory First constantly reviews its products and seeks to provide the professional instructor with a range of tools to assist in driver training. We have several projects in preparation now that will add significantly the pool of resources we supply. Q: As ADI trainers who use colourfile products as part of our course material, will Colourfile Professional Plus integrate smoothly with our existing course materials?
A: This was an important consideration when developing the new product: As far as reasonably practicable Colourfile Professional Plus retains the 'look and feel' of the Colourfile pictorial teaching system. We are aware that some training establishments will not want to change over to the new product immediately because it is impractical to train groups with different materials. For this reason we will continue to sell the Colourfile pictorial teaching system for a limited period.
Q: Will it be possible to get personalised or corporate editions of Colourfile Professional Plus as we did with previous products?
A: As before, it will be possible to obtain corporate editions featuring your own company logos. However, this facility will only be offered to training establishments with whom we have a long standing business relationship. This facility will be available subject to sight of artwork and a minimum print run of 50 units. Note that corporate editions will be produced on a digital press and may not exactly match the colour reproduction and product specification shown elsewhere on this site.
